Shapiro & Company makes me feel like I’m their only client! They made us feel so special when we were doing a renovation. We loved the design and working with them so much that now we have them designing our first custom home in Florida.

A year and a half after moving into our Shapiro home I wanted to follow up and provide our reference to anyone thinking of employing the firm. This being our first new home project, and after providing our wish list, we entrusted Brad and his associates with all of the critical decisions. The process started with the Michigan on-site visit and interview of the three potential builders that Brad had selected. This was followed up with a review of all three builders cost proposals and the required follow-up. Once a builder was selected the Shapiro firm demonstrated the cross functional flexibility that is needed between a builder and an architect, especially important when the distance is over 800 miles and materials and codes can vary versus the SE. Despite the size of the project, the distance, MI weather delays, there’s not a single thing we would have changed then or now. This only happens when you select the right architect and builder. Our family loves our Shapiro home. This summer we received our most appreciated home compliment when a long-time local resident claimed that our lakefront screened porch is the “best room in Leelanau County”. I want to thank you again for your work. I remember when we first sat down together. We spent a great deal of time discussing our thoughts, lifestyle, likes and dislikes. Then at our next meeting that we had within a short period of time, you came back with a sketch and we were amazed how it was such an accurate reflection of what we discussed. We enjoyed working with you and seeing how you made sense of our various ideas and notions. We absolutely love our house and my family very much enjoys using all of the great spaces!

Brad was someone I could talk to and not feel that I was being rushed...he was someone that I felt comfortable with. Brad exceeded all our expectations...we've had two projects with him since our very first one and we'll call Brad for the next one.

It took us nearly 10 yrs to find the ‘perfect’ property and another 10 yrs to be at the right stage to build. The wait was well worth it after hiring Brad and his firm. Being a long distance project, living in Memphis and the site was in Northern MI, we needed a partner as well as an architect. With Brad and his firm, we found that partner. The process was the proper balance between what we wanted in a house and Brad’s vision for the property. It helped that he made a visit to the property before we started moving dirt. Creating a partnership with us was critical but nearly as important during the process was that Brad developed a solid relationship w/the builder. He fostered a healthy exchange regarding a house that would encounter four distinct seasons. In the end, we will always feel that our dream home would not have exceeded our expectations without Brad and his firm.
