Best One-of-a-Kind Custom Home 5,001-6,000 SQFT:

Located in a historic Memphis neighborhood, the Tudor Revival was designed for a narrow and deep lot with a focus on exceptional indoor-outdoor living. A thoughtfully integrated porte cochere allows the homeowner seamless access from car to kitchen as a practical solution elegantly woven into the architectural composition.

Context was paramount. The home sits between a 1920s English Tudor residence and a modern Bauhaus-inspired structure, two distinctly different architectural languages. Shapiro & Company’s design carefully mediates between these contrasting neighbors, fitting beautifully within the streetscape while establishing its own distinct identity as a refined reflection of its owner.

"Classic Georgian Estate"

Best One-of-a-Kind Custom Home 6,001-8,000 SQFT:

Located within a historic district in Hernando, Mississippi, this home required sensitivity to established neighborhood scale and character. Designed as a classically inspired French-Georgian home, the residence carries the stately presence of its surroundings.

Rather than replicate historical precedent, the design advances the tradition, both proportioned and detailed to serve the contemporary lifestyle of its owners. The result is a home that feels both timeless and current, graceful yet highly functional.

Best One-of-a-Kind Custom Home 8,000-10,000 SQFT:

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, this home was designed around the needs of a large, active young family. The home emphasizes seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces, encouraging connection, gathering, and everyday livability.

Flooded with natural light, the interiors maintain a visual dialogue with the surrounding landscape, creating balance and harmony between architecture and site. While rooted in traditional forms, the home moves in a more modern way by using classically inspired proportion and scale to achieve a timeless appeal that will endure for generations.
